Overview

The Iris IOD600A is a 780L hydraulic-drive multi spreader suited to farms, lifestyle blocks, orchards, and market gardens. It handles lime, granular fertilisers, organic compost, and manure through a patented double shutter system — 3–6 m spread for manure and compost, 8–16 m for granular fertiliser and lime. Requires 1 pair of hydraulic remotes (minimum 27 LPM). Suited to tractors from 35–90 HP with Cat 1 three-point linkage.

Features & Benefits

  • Patented double shutter system — Shutter One for manure and compost, Shutter Two with butterfly openings for granular fertilisers and lime
  • Hydraulic-driven stainless steel spinner disc — variable speed controls spreading width
  • Hydraulic-driven auger pulls material consistently into the hopper outlet
  • Hydraulic-driven agitator prevents material bridging
  • Mechanical shutter control levers — simple, reliable operation
  • Stainless steel 430 hopper — corrosion resistant for fertiliser and lime use
  • Side discharge option available
  • PVC hopper cover option available for orchard use

Fertiliser & Multi Spreaders — Common Questions

Can I spread lime as well as fertiliser?

Multi spreaders are built to handle lime, compost and fertiliser; a spreader marketed purely as a fertiliser spreader may not have wide enough spread vanes or a strong enough drive for lime's density and clumping tendency. Check the individual listing if you need to spread more than one material type.

Ground-drive or PTO-driven — what's the difference?

Ground-driven spreaders use the wheel rotation to drive the spinner, so spread rate is tied to your travel speed — simple and reliable, but less precise. PTO-driven spreaders run off the tractor's PTO independent of ground speed, giving more consistent spread rate control, particularly useful on hilly or uneven ground where travel speed varies.

What hopper capacity do I need?

Match hopper size to how much area you're covering per fill, balanced against what your tractor can safely carry on the linkage — an oversized hopper full of fertiliser can overload a smaller tractor's rear lift capacity.

How do I get an even spread pattern?

Spread width and evenness depend on ground speed, PTO speed (for PTO-driven units) and the spreader's vane/disc setting — check the product's spread chart if supplied, and do a test run on a tarp to check pattern before spreading a full paddock.
